What is in the package

The painting service covers paint. This covers the room. Preparation and filling, lining paper where the wall will not take a flat finish on its own, wallpaper hanging including patterned and feature walls, woodwork and trim, and the making-good that renovation always leaves behind.

It suits whole-house redecoration, end-of-renovation finishing, and commercial interiors where the whole space has to be presentable by a fixed date.

Working in an occupied house

Most decorating happens around people. Furniture moved and sheeted rather than shoved aside, floors protected end to end, one room finished before the next is opened up where we can, and the kitchen and bathroom left usable. Tools and tins go away at the end of the day.

The snag list

Before the account is closed we walk every room with you in daylight and write down whatever you find. Missed edges, a run, a caulk line that has shrunk, a patch that needs another coat. It gets cleared, then the account closes. That is the order.

Questions

Common questions about painting.

What is included in the full decorating package?

Preparation and filling, lining paper where walls need it, wallpaper hanging, emulsion to walls and ceilings, woodwork and trim, and making good after other trades.

Do I need to choose colours before you quote?

Not necessarily, but tell us about any big colour changes: going from dark to light adds coats, which affects the price.

Can you decorate after another contractor's work?

Yes: making good after other trades is part of the package. If the plastering was done by someone else, the surface is tested before decorating.
